Organizations and Care Communities

We partner with organizations, nursing homes and care communities to better understand and address the communication and swallowing needs of those they serve. Through consultation and assessment, we help identify speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders, as well as challenges with cognitive and social communication, including changes following a stroke, traumatic brain injury or head and neck cancer treatment.

Our guidance considers each person’s language background, culture and individual needs. We help staff and care teams develop practical strategies and goals, encourage meaningful interactions, and make informed decisions about appropriate support and next steps.

Whether you have questions about your child’s language development or changes in a loved one’s communication or swallowing, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming. We offer personalized consultation and assessment for individuals ages 3 through 100, helping families understand concerns, explore options and move forward with greater confidence.

Assessments help identify speech, language, swallowing and voice disorders, as well as challenges with cognitive and social communication. We support children from diverse language backgrounds, including those with congenital conditions, and adults experiencing changes following a stroke, traumatic brain injury or head and neck cancer treatment.

Our approach considers each person’s language background, experiences and needs, with clear guidance on next steps and appropriate support.

Understanding a multilingual student’s communication needs takes a thoughtful, culturally responsive approach. We help educators and school teams determine whether a student’s speech and language patterns reflect differences related to acquiring a second language or indicate a speech or language disorder.

Through consultation and collaboration, we support informed decisions about whether intervention is needed. When appropriate, we help teams develop individualized goals, benchmarks and treatment strategies that support the student’s communication, participation and learning.
